Matt Sparks sr, Azusa Pacific, Gunnison HS – prelim, 8.22 – semi, 8.14 ­– final, 8.07 - National Champion!!! Matt destroyed the field in the final, .21 over second place!!
He was also on his team 4x400m Relay, which ran 3:14.33 in the prelims, and 3:17.94 in the final for 6th Place

Ramon Reams sr, Hastings, Harrison HS – prelim, 8.40 – semi, 8.31 – final, 8.40 – 5th Place

Brad Gamble so, Hastings, Eagle Valley HS – prelim, 8.49 – did not advance

600m Dash
Jason Zichterman sr, Azusa Pacific, Gunnison HS – prelim, 1:20.35 – final, 1:19.95 – 4th Place
Jason was on the 4x800m Relay which ran 7:44.05 in the prelims, and 7:39.98 in the final for 3rd Place. He was added to the final for the 4x400m Relay which placed 6th

Mile
Daniel Roberts fr, Cedarville College, Crested Butte Academy HS – prelim, 4:12.45 – final, 4:10.12 for 3rd Place

Zach Kintzley sr, Black Hills, Poudre HS – prelim, 4:23.16 and did not advance to the final. He was also on the Distance Medley Relay that placed 8th

Cody Bordewyk so, Black Hills, Rocky Mountain HS – prelim 8:40.45, final, 8:32.85 for 6th Place

Chandler Caldwell jr, South Dakota Tech, Thornton HS – final, 15’-3” for 11th Place

Also competing at the meet was Olivia Richert jr, Azusa Pacific, Centennial HS in the 4x800m Relay. In the prelims, 9:29.06 and in the final 9:13.02 for 5th Place

Derek Johnson jr, Drake Univ., Mullen HS – prelim, 7.76, .01 from making the final

Shot Put
Russ Winger sr. Idaho Univ., Pine Creek HS – Final, 67’-4” for 2nd Place WOW!! That was nearly a two foot personal improvement, and that mark is the # 1 best throw ever by a Colorado HS Grad. He pasted Chris Volgenau formally from Boulder HS , representing the Goldwin TC in 1994, in Florida 4/2, with a throw of 65’-9”, that mark lasted all most 13 years!

Heptathlon
Chris Helwick sr, Tennessee Univ., Greeley Central HS – 5595 points for 6th Place

Kevin Johnson sr, Colorado State Univ., Overland HS – 5422 points for 11th Place

Brian Walsh sr. Air Force Academy – 4494 points for 12th Place – No Heighted in the pole vault

Also at the meet was, Tony Stanfield jr, Iowa State, Smoky Hill HS, and team mate Jared Lewis so, Montbello HS, ran on the 4x400m Relay team for 10th Place, with a time of 3:09.03.

Women
Shot Put
Sarah Stevens so, Arizona State Univ., Fort Collins HS – Final, 59’-7” NATIONAL CHAMPION!!! She won on her last throw. That throw improved on her already # 1 ranking of former Colorado HS Grads.

Pole Vault
Elouise Rudy so, Montana State Univ., Palmer HS – Final, 14’-1 Ό” NATIONAL CHAMPION!!! She is now getting used to being at the 14’ level now, so watch out, and oh by the way, she is the # 1 best by former Colorado Grads also.

Triple Jump
Toni Smith jr, Oklahoma Univ., Montbello HS – final, 42’-11 ½” for 4th Place. She sets # 2 on the all-times list of former Colorado HS track stars, with a jump of 43’-3” from early this indoor season. She is chasing the mark of 43’-6” in 1995, by Dawn Riley of Denver East HS, winning the Indoor Big-10 Championships, for Illinois Univ. Keep an eye on her for the next few years, as I think Riley’s mark is soon to be # 2.

Long Jump
Janay Deloach sr, Colorado State Univ. – final, 20’-9 Ό” for 5th Place

Sarah Matthew fr, Stanford Univ., Niwot HS – 18’-6 ½” for 15th Place Has a personal best of 21’-2” in 2005

Weight Throw
Sarah Stevens so, Arizona State Univ., Fort Collins HS –final, 67’-9 Ύ” for 5th Place

Heptathlon
Katie Lloyd sr, Colorado State Univ., Fruita HS – 4084 points for 7th Place. One point out of 6th.

60m Hurdles
Celriece Law so, Tennessee Univ., Montbello HS – prelim, 8.20, final, 8.25 for 7th Place

5000m
Madeline McKeever so, Duke Univ., Heritage HS – final, 16:10.40 for 9th Place

3000m
Jennifer Barringer so, Colorado Univ., - final, 9:23.58 for 12th Place

Also at the meet were relay team members. Megan Kaltenbach sr, North Carolina Univ., Smoly Hill HS, on the Distance Medley NATIONAL CHAMPIONS Team, with a time of 10:59.46!! Very Fast!! Also in the race was Hillary Bontz sr, Rocky Mountain HS, running for Georgetown Univ. in 11:13.60 for 7th Place. Bridette Williams sr, from George Washington HS, running for Arizona State Univ. on their 4x400m 9th Place relay team, in 3:36.17. Bridette and Sarah Stevens, are happy to be part of Arizona State’s National Womens Indoor Championship Team!!!
